Chimney sweeps are one of those job descriptions that we seldom think too long about. It conjures up images of Victorian houses, archaic industrial workers, and a general hark back to the past. However, there are still a great many people out there in the world today making a living as a chimney sweep. For one reason or another, millions worldwide have opted to eschew electrical or gas fireplaces in favour of traditional fires, and not without good reason. So why do these original fireplaces remain so popular?
